Every site needs it's basic set of what to do, and what we ask you not to do. Here's ours.
No Godmodding.
One of the major issues on all roleplaying forums tends to be the issue of people (admins included) making their character overpowered for the rank they should be. Because of that problem we have to create boundaries on what you can and cannot do in a fight or sort of situation. We ask that you do not auto-hit your opponent. Auto-hitting is when you basically write "Sigmund brought his fist into the cheek of his opponent, feeling it collide with the strength of 10 men as he sent his opponent flying." If you are rping with someone and fighting against him, that is not allowed. What we ask is that you make posts like, "Sigmund moved forward, throwing out his fist towards his opponents cheek. He sent it fast, hoping to let it collide and possibly knock his opponent back a good couple of feet". So yes, auto-hitting is a no no. We believe that if you are able to you should know when your character cannot dodge an attack and is bound to get hit. Along with that the giving your character ultimate power is also something that we ask you do not do, please follow the standards of your character being human, not superman.
No Flaming
We do not like personal trash talking of other people in the ooc areas or even in the ic areas. The matter is if you have something against someone, we ask that you do not start a topic or even post your agitation in any topics towards them. We want everybody to get along here, though that cannot always be the case we ask that you resist and just suck it up. We do not like you bringing personal arguments into topics as well and if they are brought into any rp or even an ooc topic, we will not stand for it. This is one of the things that could present a possible banning, we do not wish to sound cruel, but that sort of stuff is just annoying for all people on the forum.
Relationships
We rate H.G. Century at a PG-13 level. No, we're not kids making this, we just prefer to have people who are sensitive to sexual stuff be able to come in and have a good time. We do not approve of topics with sexual content even if you do put "(Explicit Content)" in the title of your topic. We do not allow porn, nor pictures of any form of nudity. If you are desperate to have something like that happen, please make sure it's okay with the other person and possibly use private messaging. Along with this factor, we here on the H.G. Century boards are hetero-sexual and we ask that if you are going to rp here you stick to all forms of that. We ask that you do not create characters who are homo-sexual, we do not hate them, we just would rather stick to our own wants of our site.
Have Fun.
On H.G. Century we want to emphasize the idea of just being able to rp and have a good time. Though it's put under the rules, it's actually just something that we hope goes along with rping on here. We hope that the topics are fun and enjoyable and if you ever feel the need for a break in rping, we'll be happy to help you out in anyway possible. Thanks for reading.
