-Character Description-
Name:Angel Overdrive (Real Name: Ai Osaka)
Age:18
Programmer Rank:Initiate
Faction:Neutral
Place of Birth:Tokyo, Japan
General Personality:Angel is controlled. She is very passionate about her beliefs and about the lifestyle she wants to live and promote, but she forces those emotions into the depths. Her heart controls her actions, which can make it difficult for others to interact with her, since her outward appearance seems to be logical and calculated. Cold. She speaks directly to people she respects, and with sarcastic wit to those she does not.
The most common emotion to bubble to her surface is anger, which will be expressed mostly with action rather than words.
Angel has a severe weakness for small animals, however, and will exhibit a child-like personality when around them. Animals beware, however, for she'll just as easily throw one out the window if they turn on her.
Angel believes that society has gone too far in its reliance on holographic technology. She has spent most of her life living in the wilderness, away from the technology, and she pities those who have depended on it for entertainment and identity. She hopes to somehow change the views of her generation by showing them the beauty and power of the natural world, while keeping balance with the technological: there's a place for everything, balance is key.
She's a quick but more importantly calm thinker in a jam. Her problem-solving can be a little self-centered, however, as she will usually only take into account how to defeat a target with her own abilities, and not take into account anything from her allies.
Angel is a very good "mimic and mirror" who can blend her personality to whatever group she is addressing.

Looks/Description:Angel is a beautiful, tiny thing. A combat 5'3, her body seems to be made of lean muscle atop her slender frame, though her legs are a bit larger from the training (she hates that). Being born of Japanese and English ancestry, she has a interesting set of Eurasian features. Her skin is fair, though tans easily in the sun. Her eyes and facial features follow her father's Japanese side, though the eyes themselves are blue, and her hair blonde. Her outfit can change, but it's usually a pair of charcoal gray cargo pants, yellow and black sneakers, and a yellow tank top. She also wears black fingerless gloves and a pair of goggles that sit on her head; the goggles are special; they are clear in darkness, yellow in low-light (to increase visibility), and dark in the sunlight. She often carries a messenger bag around with tools and a computer, as well as whatever she might be delivering.
History:Hajime Osaka and Emily Tyler were not a couple that could last. Emily thought Hajime was fascinating; a man who lived in the wilderness as a shinto priest, actively rejecting the advances in technology around him and yet so full of life and passion. Hajime found Emily entrancing, her foreign body and vast knowledge of things he thought would remain a mystery.
Their love was passionate, but they soon grew tired of the novelty of one another, and they parted ways. Emily did not know she was carrying a daughter.
When she was born in Tokyo, Emily sent word to Hajime. He arrived at the hosptial and they spoke about her future. Emily was a top researcher for the Blade Corporation, her career was on the rise, and the thought of a daughter was too inconvenient for her. However, she could not bear the idea of adoption. So little Ai went with her father.
In the mountains of Japan, Ai was shown a life free of technology, grown and developed from nature. She spent her days in the woods, learning of the animals, the plants, the way of the earth. Hajime also instructed her daughter in important physical arts. He taught her how to traverse the wilderness quickly, how to run and climb. She was also taught to defend herself, using a combination of martial arts revolving around Aikido. She was happy in her shrine away from the world, and she could have lived like that forever.
However, Emily began to miss her wayward daughter, only receiving the occasional update from Hajime. When Ai was fifteen, Emily came to take her to Tokyo with her, to give her a better education. Enamored by the tales of the city, Ai agreed to go.
However, the city was hard for Ai. She missed the freedom of the wilderness, and found herself confined indoors for most most of her days. She was forcibly trained to use the Holo-Comps, and though she excelled at the combat, she found the contests boring; holographic combat was nothing compared to actual hand-to-hand sparring.
Ai found freedom when she met Claude; a young 17-year-old who used the city as his playground, using the art of free-running to traverse rooftops. Ai was entranced with this new art, and her training adapted quickly from the mountains to the urban terrain. They fell in love.
For three years, Ai and Claude lived on the edge; escaping security, playing pranks on civilian kids, learning to break into buildings and past computer security. Claude didn't go to school, and kept his true occupation hidden from Ai; that he was an odd-jobber for the illicit underworld. His skills allowed him to deliver messages, steal important information, and occasionally, assassinate.
Ai discovered Claude's secret life and she was crushed. They got into a violent argument which ended with a city-long chase through the rooftops, each testing the other's limits. Ai's skills had surpassed Claude's in three years, something that neither of them had realized.
Claude missed a jump, and fell to his death.
Since then, Ai has left everything she knew, leaving her mother's home and dropping out of the university. She has seen the dangers the society has bred, and someone she loved died because of it. She truly believes that if the people of the city could balance their love of technology and power with an understanding of the natural world, then lives like Claude's would not be ruined and subsequently snuffed out.
Now "Angel Overdrive," Ai moves through the city, entering combat tourneys to prove her natural body is superior to the holographic enhancements.
