Kaiketsu had one more been wandering around the school grounds of UEC University. He glanced about as he had remembered the grading exam for those registering was going to begin soon. Though, he wasn't very happy with the thought of attending another school, after having left one already, he knew that it would be a good idea to test his new found talent in Holo-warring.
He approached the nearby doors to the gymnasium as he pushed them open, only to hear the roar of the crowd cheering on what was about to be the brawl that the school held annually. Kaiketsu pushed himself through a group of people, moving closer to the registration area, not fully sure how the whole system worked. But, soon enough he found himself at the front desk, with the employee asking for his name.
"Kaiketsu Tada"
Kaiketsu was then pushed, as he found it, towards the main contending area. He stood around watching a large board for who would be in which fight, and he soon realized that he was one of the few "last to enter" participants. He watched the board as the names began to switch orders, and soon even faded away, the roster and match order soon appearing so the people could see their opponents to be.
The biggest surprise was the fact that Kaiketsu saw his name as one of the first matches, to be more specific, the literal first match of the day. He sighed, slightly surprised at how machines had a way to harm a persons confidence, and allow them little time to stress about upcoming events. He soon shrugged it off and headed down to where the signs directed to the main stage. Of course, the multiple slots to the arena made it hard for him to fully know which way would take him to the slot of his match, considering that others would be fighting at the same moment, to not waste time of course.
As Kaiketsu finally arrived at the slot for his match, he was rather surprised to see a boy about his age. Though, much more outrageous in his features, being what one would stereotype as a "punk", Kaiketsu was more than ready to get this round onto way. The ref for the round counted down the time, soon calling out "GO!" And the fight was underway.
Kaiketsu quickly shot forward towards the opposing male. His speed was rather the same as he when he had lost fought, but he had thought out a bit more what to do this first round. He quickly pulled his hand back, creating the holographic scythe that he had conjured up recently. The punk held a smirk on his face as he did the same, though, bringing out what looked to be like a chain with a knife at the end, and swung it approaching Kaiketsu. Soon enough Kaiketsu brought his left hand up in a forward fashion, aiming it for the boys sternum and simultaneously thrusted the blunt end of the scythe at the boys right leg. As the male saw the blows coming, he moved out of the way of the first, however placing his exposed stomach right in the way of the blunt end of the scythe.
A simple stroke was what finished the match, Kaiketsu swung the other end of the scythe, using the blunt end to create a counterweight, and sent a blow to the opposing males face, a sure k.o. hit in a matter of seconds. Kaiketsu was rather surprised... He had hoped his plan would work, but that was rather faster than he expected. He tried to play it off cool, smirking to himself and removing his weapons from his hands as he turned on his heel, heading out back to the participants area, to watch other matches... It looked like it might be a good day.

Talon sighed as he sat in one of the rows of seats surrounding the countless number of small circular arenas. He was futilely trying to drown out the thunderous roaring sound of hundreds of students screaming, cheering, and booing simultaneously. At an event like this there would always be crowd favorites and school idols, and students of both genders made sure to come out and support their favorite programmers.
The day of the placement exams was always a chaotic one, and time seemed to drag out endlessly as hundreds upon hundreds of matches were carried out, slowly whittling down the number of remaining participants until finally only one would remain standing. Students were scored on how many matches they managed to win and on the strategy and style of their combat during each of these matches
The brown-haired teen slowly stood up, blinking his icy turquoise-colored eyes as the PA system chimed a tone and alerted the remaining participants to look up at the large scoreboard screens for the next set of match-ups. In bright-neon fonts lit up the names, one of them reading Talon Sykes. He really didn’t pay much attention to the name paired up with his. Whoever it was would be quickly taken care of before he moved on to the next opponent. Though he was trying to put on the façade of a normal, gentle-spirited student, he still had the ability to thoroughly beat his foe without being too flashy about it.
Stepping into the properly marked ring out of the dozens scattered across the gym floor, Talon quickly inputted a couple commands into his holocomp to prepare a few programs that he might need for the first rounds of this competition. He then waited patiently for his first opponent to enter the small arena. He blinked a few times in surprise as a female in the same grade level as him stepped in. It’s not like he thought girls couldn’t be strong programmers, but… it just felt a little weird starting out against one.
A katana materialized in Talon’s hand as soon as the start of the match was announced, and his opponent had chosen to use a set of metallic gloves, giving the impression that she would be choosing hand-to-hand combat. Another weird choice for a woman, but whatever.
Talon made the first move, running forward and swinging wildly in diagonal slashes towards his foe’s chest. Each strike was blocked by the girl’s metal fists, though it still seemed to make her wince every time his blade collided with her hands. Eventually, Talon chose to temporarily halt his barrage of attacks and quickly jumped backwards to the opposite side of the arena.
This time it was the girl’s turn to charge forward, rushing at Talon at full speed with her right fist ready to deliver a powerful jab. Her strength was most likely being amplified by a program from what Talon could see. He was already bored of this fight, so he simply raised his empty left hand with his palm open towards the girl. Her fist and body slammed into what seemed like an invisible wall, causing her to bounce back and tumble across the floor like a ragdoll. It was clear that she would not be getting up again after colliding with Talon’s psychic wall, a simple program that could act as a defensive barrier. Her excessive use of force had been her biggest downfall.
Hearing a few loud cheers erupt upon the verbal announcement of his victory, Talon smirked and wondered if he had already gained a few fans after his first match. He quickly stepped back towards the stands and sat down to watch the other current matches. His teal eyes would observe carefully until his next match was announced. This could turn out to be an incredibly lucrative day for him…

-Starting Programs- Weapon: Matching Knives Whip Ability: Wind
Eniac stood in the entryway. He couldn't believe his eyes! He was standing in the building where he would undergo his first tournament! Looking all around at all the people, he started to get nervous. "If I lose in front of all these people..." Eniac started to walk forward, when his foot stepped on a part of his torn clothing. He tripped and fell to the ground. He looked up as a few people chuckled and kept walking. "Aw, great! I'm already making a fool of myself!" Eniac chuckled to himself, picked himself up, tore of that pesky piece of cloth, and walked over to the sign-up area. "Eniac Bayston." After showing identification, Eniac was permitted to go to the fighting lounge.
Eniac heard his name called and he started to walk out into the arena. To double-check, Eniac made sure all of his programs were in order. He tapped his wireless earpiece, and in front of him a hologram appeared. He typed some information and closed the hologram. Then he looked up to see a gigantic muscular man. He had a short, black beard that only made him look more tough. The man's arm looked bigger than Eniac! Eniac made a huge gulp. "This is not going to be easy..."
The match began, and the man pulled out an immense sword. Eniac's eyes went wide. "My knives against a barbarian with a blade twice as heavy as me!? What kind of odds are these!?" People in the stands started to leave the arena to get snacks or use the restroom, because they figured this match would be over soon. The man ran at Eniac, and as he did, Eniac's mind started racing. Eniac was calculating the man's movements inside his head. "1.32 miles per hour." Eniac jumped over to the right. The man changed direction soon after. "Reaction time is 2.04 seconds." Eniac stood still, waiting for the man to reach him. As the man neared, he reared up his sword to swipe at the poor child. As the man made a horizontal swing, Eniac jumped over the blade using his wind powers to help. "Preparation for attack is 1.62 seconds. I change my mind. This battle will be a cinch!!"
Eniac's feet touched the ground, and he was 3 feet away from the man. The man decided to swing his sword vertically. He reared up his sword. Eniac's brain started racing..."3.2 centimeters..." As soon as the man brought the sword behind his head, he felt a slice in his chest. Eniac had his daggers out, and right when the man pulled the sword back, Eniac had closed in for a quick slash. Eniac then dashed back, and the man's sword came down. The sword missed Eniac by 3.2 centimeters. Eniac smiled as the sword smashed into the ground. As soon as it hit the ground, Eniac ran up the sword and kicked the man in the face. The man fell back, and he let go of the sword as he flew far across the floor. Eniac stuck his tongue out, "Come on! You aren't going to let a kid like me beat you up are ya!?" The man looked at the little boy who just knocked him to the floor. His rage overtook him, and he yelled, "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, PUNK!?" His face turned red as the energy welled up in his face. The man got up and started running wildly at Eniac. Eniac smiled, "Game..." Eniac pulled out his whip, and threw it so it wrapped around the man's sword. The man kept running, head-first right at Eniac. Eniac pulled on the whip, "...Set..." the whip pulled on the sword and the sword flew through the air. The man, who was focused only on hitting Eniac, didn't notice what Eniac was doing. Eniac yanked the whip, so the sword swung at a high speed right at the man. The sword flew right at the man's face and made contact. The man fell to the ground, unconscious. Eniac walked up to the man, and finished his phrase, "...and Match."
Eniac had won the match. He turned off the Holo-Comp and look at the crowd. Cheers all around. Nobody thought a little kid like Eniac could beat such a monstrous opponent. Eniac thought to himself, "Hmm, it's kinda funny. His strength became his weakness. If he wasn't strong enough to carry such a massive sword, and if he wasn't so big, giving him slow reaction times, he wouldn't have been defeated so easily." Eniac burst into laughter as he looked at the crowd. It looks like this could turn out to be a great day!!

Kaiketsu headed to the participants lobby. He took a seat on one of the benches there and rested his head against the wall. He watched some of the other matches that had just started after his own. He let out a small sigh, cupping his hands together as he slung them behind his head. After a moment, he brought his legs up onto the bench in front of him. He continued to relax against the bench, waiting for something exciting to come up. Soon enough he caught sight of Talon, who seemed very relaxed... But that was little surprise to Kaiketsu. Talon always looked relaxed.
Kaiketsu let out a small groan as he stood up, walking towards where he recalled seeing a vending machine. Passing many other contestants along the way only helped Kaiketsu realize how many people were actually entered in this tournament. He was perplexed at how this school had so many people entering this event. He felt though, that many would not actually end up attending classes, but only actually just wanted the fighting with the other people there. Kaiketsu let out a small grin, pushing for the cold soda as the slot opened up, letting him take it.
After leaving the hallway with the soda, Kaiketsu decided to take a small walk around the grounds. He figured that some fights would go longer than others, and that did give him sound down time between his next fight. He had to figure out some other things that he could try out in these battles, he just... Had to think.
After a few moments of thinking in the middle of the pathway, he finally moved towards the more open area where less people were gathered. He sat down on a nearby wall, finally moving his right hand atop his left, opening up the holo-comp screen as he began to fidget with it. He might have just figured out a new strategy.

Talon took another deep, relaxing breath as he leaned back in his seat and gazed nonchalantly around the rest of the enormous area. There were still cheers and boos erupting from the stands as the spectators observed the current matches, but about half of the students were more focused on glancing around at people who had already won matches and whispering to each other about them.
His ears perked up when he heard the mention of his name being loudly discussed by a large group of students several seats away from his own spot. It looks like he had already drawn quite a bit of attention after his first match, probably due to this status as a transfer student.
“There’s that Talon Sykes guy! Isn’t he strong and cool?!”
“I hear he has been living and studying in America until this year! Foreign exchange students are always the best!”
Finally a condescending male voice in the group interrupted the excited girls’ voices.
“Oh come on, all he did was beat up a girl! Anyone could have done that. Let’s see how he fights when he is paired up with a real programmer!”
The large group then erupted into inaudible chatter as both male and female students voiced their opinions simultaneously, turning the conversation into a homogenous mixture of sounds that Talon could no longer distinguish from each other. He slowly stood up from his seat and calmly strode over to the group of his fellow classmates.
“Uhh… excuse me?”
Even his soft voice was enough to instantly turn all of their attention towards him. The expressions on their faces ranged from anger, admiration, curiosity, and even a bit of fear from a couple of them. Talon’s gaze fell upon the boy who had unintentionally called him out earlier.
“You better not lose before I get the chance to personally show you what I can do. See you in the arena, Real Programmer-san.”
And with that, he abruptly turned away from the group and quickly walked back to his original seat. A few giggles escaped from the girls in the group, and Talon could practically sense the embarrassment and anger radiating from the male student. He chose to just ignore anyone else around him for now.
Scanning the data streaming across his eyepiece, he began inputting a few commands into the keypad on his wrist to change around his program set for his next match. He could probably continue coasting along and racking up wins with just his current program, but he didn’t want to let down his potentially new fans in the audience by giving them repetitive, boring matches. This was his chance to create a firm foothold in this academy, and he wasn’t going to waste it.

Eniac sat in the lounge, and looked at the people around him. Everyone seemed so busy, and he was just sitting there. "Maybe I should get up and look busier." Eniac picked himself up and started to move about the room. He noticed Kaitetsu and Talon. They both seemed focused, and he didn't want to distract them.
He kept walking until his face met with the chest of an adult man. "Hey, kid!" Eniac didn't look up out of fear of the man. "You think you're so tough, because you beat one guy? Well let me tell you something. You got lucky. You couldn't beat him again if you tried!" Eniac just smiled and walked past the man. "Hey! You think you can just walk away like that!?"
"I'm doing it, aren't I?"
The man just stared at Eniac, a disgruntled look on his face. The man shook it off, "Stupid brat. At least he won't hang around for long. In the next match, he'll be toast."
Eniac walked over to where the arena window was. He watched as people programmed their way to victory. He lost track of time watching the battles, and everything else around him seemed to fade away.

Kaiketsu had finally finished the modifications to his Holo-comp, and soon got up and headed back towards the gym. He wanted to make sure that he didn’t miss his next round and that lead to his speedy entrance to the participants lobby once more. After a short time of finishing up his soda, he headed to the doors leading into the stage once more. His round had been called moments before and it was once more to enter the battle zone. Soon enough, Kaiketsu was on the stage floor, glancing at his opponent this time. A rather muscular man carrying two large pick-axes as his holographic weapon.
Kaiketsu couldn’t help but smirk a little at this figure, it was perfect for the new strategy he wanted to move in to testing. He soon launched himself forward as he approached the man, his pick-axes drawn back in a horizontal arc. Immediately after Kaiketsu’s movement forward, his legs froze up, keeping him from moving forward as the pick-axes swung right in front of him, narrowly missing. His plan had worked, rather than picking the patterns of his opponents movements, he found that he would always lunge forward towards his opponent. He needed to switch it up. He pressed off the ground, launching himself into a lunge up in the air, going barely over the man’s head. His hand brought back in a curve, unleashing his holographic scythe once more.
After landing on the ground behind the figure, Kaiketsu swung his scythe’s bottom counter-weight at the man’s legs, He quickly withdrew a holographic dagger with his left hand, blocking the finishing arc of the opponents swing. His scythe caught the man’s legs, slamming into him as his figure was soon brought to the floor on his stomach. Kaiketsu twisted his body, bringing the scythe down in an arc, barely swiping it across the man’s neck, a small green mark on his neck after the move. The chime rang as he had been declared the winner. He smiled, swinging the scythe once more, bringing down the counter-weight on the man’s stomach as he knocked the wind out of him.
“Should have quit when we started.”
As he walked off the stage he was quite happy, that strategy had worked out much better than expected. He was quite happy to look forward to who he would be facing next in this round.

This was much too many people, but yet the girl definately stood out. No one knew who she was, no one knew her name, because they had never seen her before. The girl wasn't participating, at least, so they thought, as she moved quickly from the crowd. The participants, more particularly the male ones, caught sight of her and smiled. She looked weird for people here, almost like she came out of manga. Dark blue hair that actually looked nice floated behind her steps, even as she almost bumped into someone. ''Sorry.'' she said softly, before continuing. Had the first rounds stopped? It certainly seemed so, as she saw the blonde haired punk win against his opponent. Her gaze shifted, but she breathed out. But what she saw, made her forget the fact that she might not fight for the first time.
That was just cool! The scythe, the way he moved! Looking at it through the videos did not match the excitement of being there, as the blue haired girl just shook happily. But then, her stage name ran through, giving her a heart attack. Oh dear! She was going to fight! Her nervosity made her shake, made her quake, as she bit her lower lip uncertainly. Could she even do it? Her steps were light as she ran through the participants area, almost running straight into the male that was just coming off. ''Oh sorry! that was awesome by the way!'' she said, before quickly slipping through the door into the arena. This was going to be interesting, if anything else.
''What? I have to fight a girl! You've gotta be kidding! I ain't going up against no girl, you gots me? It's pathetic, find me a better opponent!'' an indignant voice protested, as the girl walked up on stage. She was surprised by the vehemence of the statement, and looked at the boy before her. He was barely past twelve, if even! Her face started to frown, as he pitched a light fit, seemingly more then angry that he was fighting a weak girl, as he called it. ''FINE! I'll fight her! I'll make sure I win, because you people are stupid! I bet she's as slow and dumb as she is ugly!'' This assault on her made the girl's eyes narrow. That.. she would not tolerate.
For a small little kid, he was strong, because he summoned a morning star and immidiately sped towards her, crashing it. Her gymnastic skills saved her, as she back flipped and on one hand, side barreled, missing the crash and then the next hit of the flail. The boy let out a frustrated scream and charged at her again, but this time she took the offensive. Diving forward, and flipping into the air, she landed behind him, and proceeded to the strangest way of beating him. Turning around and holding his hands, she spun him to face her, as she shook her head. ''Hey, that wasn't nice. Won't you apologize?'' she asked, her eyes, dark blue orbs, bright and gentle. The boy wiggled and whined, before screaming again, like a true childish thing.
''I GIVE UP. SHE'S TOUCHING ME, GET ME OUT OF HERE. She's soiled me! I need to be clean, get me out, get me out nooooowww!!!!'' the kid whined. And within moments, she was announced the winner, although she didn't even fight! Weird. Watching the spoiled rich brat get taken home, her steps led off the stage, where, once again she bumped into someone. but someone she knew.
''Hey Rosalind. How are you?''
''Kyo Senpai! I didn't expect to see you here!''
The girl said, smiling. Taking his hand up, she let herself be guided towards the side, towards a cool looking male, whom had fought the second today. She hadn't been able to keep an eye on his match, she was crossing the street just then. But from what the girl had peeked, he was awesome. And she got distracted by Kyo-senpai, whom was talking to her, and slowly, she just smiled, her glasses, flashing softly. Yeah.. this would be interesting.
What a great idea she had to come here!

Talon was leaning way back in his seat, crossing his hands behind his head in an incredibly relaxed position. He had continued to casually, but thoroughly observe all of the matches taking place around him, taking mental notes of each participant’s weapons of choice and combat styles. If he wound up facing off against one of these particular students, he would have an even bigger advantage over them in the arena. Not that he really needed it, but whatever.
He glanced to his left and cast his vivid aqua eyes at a couple of newcomers making their way towards him. It was a male he did not recognize and a unique-looking girl who had just won a match against some pathetic brat who had the guts to even show up to these tests. Since Talon hadn’t actually seen her fight, he had no idea what this girl could do. He would have to pay close attention to her next match and assess her skill.
Noticing the bold ‘Talon Sykes’ lighting up the large viewscreens once again, the young man quickly jumped up and began making his way down towards the nearest arena entrance. Upon passing the two students, he spoke in a low voice to the female.
”Nice work out there. I hope I have the chance to measure your skill for myself…”
Talon’s voice tapered off at the end, and his quick pace took him well away before she could even try to respond to him. He nodded at the academy official at the entrance of the arena and entered one of the several small rings dotting the huge gym. Only one program had been prepped in his holocomp, and it was all he would need for his second match. His opponent was another male student, probably close to his own age, give or take a year or two. No problem.
The boy charged towards him, materializing a large claymore program and swinging the deadly blade at Talon with a strong overhead chop. Talon quickly displayed a feat of athleticism by flipping backwards, landing on his hands, and completing the maneuver by springing back up to his feet, finishing the loop. As his opponent recovered from having his excessively long weapon slam into the ground, he quickly flicked his right wrist, sending a small throwing knife flying forward. The small blade pierced the boy’s left hand, rendering it useless for the remainder of this fight.
Seemingly indifferent by the fact that he could no longer lift his large two-handed sword, the male student dispersed the claymore and materialized a new program, this time a much shorter sword, barely longer than a dagger. He rushed towards Talon for a second time, waving the blade wildly in an attempt to land a few quick blows. However, Talon calmly parried the blow with a second throwing knife and then quickly used his free hand to land a quick jabbing punch on his opponent’s outer arm, causing it to fall limply at his side, his sword clattering useless to the floor.
Now with a hand experiencing the piercing pain of a knife, and an arm that had been temporarily disabled, the boy simply had no effective means of defending himself. Talon used this chance to step forward and deliver a crushing roundhouse kick to the chest, sending his foe reeling backwards until finally collapsing on the ground.
After the judge finally declared him the winner, Talon calmly stepped out of the ring and slowly made his way back to his seat, not even bothering to acknowledge the growing sound of girls screaming his name and telling each other how cool the new foreign student was and the guys shouting out thunderous approval when he had delivered the finishing strike. He had to admit that it made him feel pretty good, but he continued to act as if nothing had changed.
Talon simply sat down in the same spot he had been located all day and hoped that he wouldn’t be swarmed by the other spectators who would surely want to come over and discuss what he would do in his upcoming matches. Maybe his plan to attract a bit of attention might go a little too far if he didn’t find a way to effectively control exactly how much attention he would get…

Kensei wasn't amused. He had good reason not to be amused, after all. He had spent the last month (maybe two, the man didn't really keep track of time like that) trying to locate the two idiots who had decided to up and leave, just like rest of them. It was bad enough that their faux-leader had decided to vanish, but with the substitute professor disappearing along sometime later that was just it. Kensei resolved to find those two blockheads and drag them back to the class if that was the last thing he did. Or at the very least, smack some sense into Mr. Nuji. It was all his fault this even happened in the first place after all, breaking for coffee and leaving a sub in. He had heard rumors that said two blockheads were in the 4423, which was the main reason why he even signed up with the tournament in the first place. If he couldn't find them then he'd just stick around until he heard any more stories about them both. It was just how he worked - not that it was really working, anyway. But that was a story for another time. Having just joined the university, Kensei decided it was best if he got himself acquainted with the layout of the vessel - it was clear he was going to be stuck here regardless, so might as well get used to where he was staying. With that thought, the silver-haired man started to wander around the place. Starting Programs Weapon Programs: - combat knife - iron-guard gloves
Ability Program: - explosive blasts

"Eniac Bayston? Is an Eniac Bayston here?"
"Yep...that's me." Eniac said, staring through the window at the empty arena. Usually people start getting ready for the next battle by now. I wonder why they aren't getting prepared now.
"Hey! You're Eniac, ain't ya?"
"Sure am!"
"We've been calling your name for five minutes!! Get out there!!"
Eniac quickly ran over to the preparation area, and got his programs into order. "Alright! Let's do this!!" Eniac ran out into the arena, eyes ablaze with excitement. When he came out to the ring, he saw his enemy standing before him. A boy around his age. Eniac knew that it would only get harder from here on out, so he made a last minute program check. When they were both adequately prepared, the holo-comps activated and the battle started. Eniac pulled out his knives, and his opponent pulled out his sword. Only a skilled blade-wielder could hold his own against a full sword using only knives, and Eniac knew that. However, the opponent was agile, and it was too late to change weapons. The boy was already upon Eniac and made a jumping strike. Eniac dodged to the left, and said "Starting with a jump? Reckless!" Unfazed, the boy quickly slashed his sword at Eniac's face. "Don't waste your time. Trash talking doesn't work on me." Eniac barely dodged the sword attack.
Eniac kept dodging attack after attack. The boy's attacks kept varying in swiftness and in form. Wow! This guy is so fast and changes so much, I can't get a good reading on him. Without my calculations, it will be a whole lot tougher to win this one! If I even can! Finally, Eniac saw an opening, and moved his knife up. The sword and knife clashed. Eniac saw the boy's pupils dilate at the unforeseen circumstance. A smile formed on Eniac's lips.
"My turn!!"
With all the strength he could muster, Eniac swung the knife away, leading the sword away from defending the opponent's body. The boy quickly tried to move his sword to cover him, but Eniac had his other hand already prepared to strike. The boy felt a few cuts of Eniac's knife into his chest. The boy moved his sword to cover himself, but Eniac's reflexes enabled Eniac to target other points of the boy's body. Eniac's body, arms, and legs looked like they were going the speed of light, and with his perfect form, Eniac's knife hit every target. Eniac was able to get 6 or 7 good slices on the boy's chest, arms, and legs, before the boy quickly turned to retreat. The boy quickly ran a safe distance and turned around. The boy placed his hands on the wound in his chest. "Arrgh...I'm not giving up so easily!!" The opponent started to conjure up lightning. Eniac watched as the boy gathered up the electric energy. Eniac's finger twitched at the thought of being electrocuted. He knew he would have to think of something fast.
Eniac's mind began to race. In less than 5 seconds, electricity would be shot at him. Thanks to his intelligence it only took him 0.7 seconds to think of a plan. I can tell that my swift cuts have broken his psyche ever so slightly. I'll use that to my advantage!! Eniac used his wind powers, combined with running, to run at a speed of over 20 mph. As the boy finished preparing his lightning, his eyes grew wide at the sight of Eniac moving so fast towards him, that he quickly shot a lightning bolt to stop his advance. "All according to plan." Eniac used the wind powers to blow himself into the air. He pulled out his whip with one hand, keeping a knife in his other. As he flew over the boy, Eniac extended his whip to wrap around his opponent's leg. As he kept going, the whip pulled taut, and the boy fell forward face-first. "Check..." Eniac created a strong wind to quickly re-adjust himself in the air. Eniac was now falling down towards the ground, where his opponent lay on the floor. Eniac yanked his whip, pulling the opponent skyward. With the boy flying upward, and Eniac falling downward, Eniac readied his knife. Eniac quickly slashed the knife down the middle of his opponent, and fell to the ground. The boy hit the ground, unconscious. "...mate."
Eniac turned the holo-comp off and looked to the crowd. Cheers from the audience roared. Eniac walked over to the boy and got him on his feet. "Hey, you were pretty good out there! I'd love to face you again sometime!" The boy looked humiliated at his defeat, but when he looked up at Eniac's closed-eye, open-mouth smile, he couldn't help but smile too. The boys shook hands. "Sure, but next time, I'll win for sure!" Eniac walked off the arena and back into the lounge area. Time for a much needed nap!

Things were going bad, and they were going bad fast. Explosives went off, shuriken flew, blades clashed and scraped, the crowd stood at awe at the fight. already in process. The cacophony of hell. It was Kensei and a man about the same age with a large muscle mass, even bigger then that of the ex-Marine's. He had been through two easy fights already.
Kensei spun in the dirt, his left heel planting in the enemy’s chest, ribs crunching, and the sound made him smile. Without looking, he spun again, blade slicing the neck of the man vainly trying to sneak up on him, now falling to the ground, a geyser of blood spurting between his fingers. "You’ll have to do better than that", Kensei thought to himself. He leapt up into the treetops to get a better look around. The man he was fighting had the ability to make copies of himself.
"Then again, I should give credit where credit’s due, he mused." These damn guys were fast. If it weren’t for the explosions, he would’ve been one of the nameless, facedown in the dirt, by now. Kensei silently cursed as sweat ran down his face, into his eyes.
A blur appeared in front of Kensei. Automatically, his combat knife came up and made that sick, sweet sound as the point drove up underneath the man’s breastbone, through his heart, and out his back. As the enemy gasped his head tilted so that the sunlight shone off his face. The copy disappeared as the one came behind him with a slash of a katana.
Oh shit-
Kensei leapt back, but it was too late, the explosive went off and he went with it. The slash blasted him facedown into a puddle, and he only woke up when he started to choke on the brackish brown water. He looked around, but nothing made sense, even with his sharp vision, he couldn’t see. The noise of the battle blended into a demon’s shriek, he was cut in the back and had to keep going, since his opponent was after him again.
Kensei peeled off the mask of mud on his face, suffocating him and suddenly dodged the incoming attack. He tripped his enemy. The assailant was thrown to the ground, as Kensei warped an explosive blast from his hand. He walked off with a nonchalant atiitude as the crowd roared from the excitement of his match...

Kaiketsu had been rather proud with the way his last fight had ended and the crowd had a rather welcoming sound of cheering and such. After getting off of the stage he had heard and seen other people with girls crowded around them, he however did not expect to almost get run over by a... blue haired girl? The color of the girls hair surprised him, but he was quite pleased with the compliment that he had received from her.
After a few moments of thinking over the next rounds and seeing what time the next match would be, Kaiketsu took another short stroll to think over his next actions for the rounds. Of course the great thought of adapting, improvising and overcoming was always necessary in fights, he wished that there was some way to read up on his opponents, well, without feeling cheap. But, seeing how much time he had, it just meant a good amount of time for rest.
Kaiketsu felt the need for fresh air. This time, rather than strolling around the main garden areas, he decided to go on the balcony of the main building. And after a short walk up the stairs and through the doors, the gust of a gentle breeze caressed Kai’s face. He pushed his hands up to the railing as he gazed out over the school area, looking at most of the faces there and just gazing out the crowd and even the buildings. It was incredible, it felt more like he was at some major festival that one and all would come to. He couldn’t help but laugh happily to himself, he could not recall the last time seeing this many people and just the idea of having this much of a rebellious opportunity made him quite happy. He stretched his arms above his head, turning and leaning against the rail as he shut his eyes, tilting his head back. It looked to be a good day.
”Tch, that blond kid? He doesn’t stand a chance in the next round. I mean, he keeps looking like he’s just stumbling around with no idea what he’s doing.”
The ironic thing is how the truth is what can really hurt the most sometimes. Kaiketsu slowly opened his right eye, glancing over where the sound came from. Arguably, he was one of what could have been many blond hair kids, but when you notice one of the people that he is speaking to glancing to you, and then every eye following, including the one’s speaking... well, Kaiketsu just knew this was about him. He slowly stood up casually from his relaxed position, walking away from where he was resting. He was looking more forward to this next round than before... He couldn’t wait to rub this little insult in his opponents face. Normally, it was just a fun fight... He felt though, this one might just be a bit more pleasing than most of his others.

She was happy, she really was. Kyo-sensei was such a great person, it was almost impossible to concieve foul play from him. And the girl simply talked to him, and they spent great minutes together, until she heard a voice, whom startled her. Hey! She knew this one! The girl blinked and flushed slightly, smiling gently at the male and simply nodding, because she couldn't even gather enough words to say anything. He was gone already, as she looked at the board.. Talon Sykes. With a flash, it was remembered, as she was distracted by Kyo-sensei again. The girl just felt an extreme happiness, not even dulled by the fact that she might have to fight soon. Curling up beside her sensei, she was watching the screen with a vivid attentiveness, quiet and yet passionate. The girl was just excited, the buzz.. just.. everything around her was so perfect. Although she hated cruelty, the chance to mesure her skills, to view a challenge, was almost just as good as cruelty was bad. It was counterbalancing and she had won her first match without revealing anything! That was a plus, because from what she noticed, people were starting to get more and more into the skills rather then absentee themselves from them, phoey ~.
But so far, she had noticed that she was the only female competitor with any luck. Weird. But she was sure there were other girls! Her eyes glanced up and she had a visible start. It was her match next. With a smile to Kyo-sensei, she started to walk away, when she saw the blonde male from earlier. But without a single hesitation, she flashed him a beautiful, gentle smile, before walking to the preparation room. Luckily, she had gotten a sneak peak of this opponent, and if she played it right.. she could win without fighting again! The girl sighed, as she suddenly walked into the arena, cat calls not bothering her. They all remembered her fight with the spoiled kid.. and they waited for her real skills this time. Keiko felt bad, but she had to disapoint them! After all, the longer she kept her skills hidden, the longer she could make it. Because that way, no one could formulate a strategy against her, right? That's what Kyo-sensei taught her long, long ago! So she was putting it to good use this time.
The fragile looking boy seemed to be scared of her, as she walked up. Why did they place her with the weaker ones? Did she look that week? Geez. Altough, if she could squish it in her weekends, she should try a martial arts course. Anyways, the girl blinked at him, and smiled kindly, and before she could even say anything, he burst into tears. ''I-I-I can't do this!'' he said, throwing in the towel. The crowd was disapointed, but they got something they would never forget. The brown haired boy was sobbing hysterically, and no one could make him move or calm down.. and she saw this, as her body was ready to walk off. It wasn't even hestitation, just a moment to decide.. and her steps bounced lightly to the small, frightened boy that had been forced into this.
Her arms wrapped around him, and held the poor thing, rocking him back and forth, and saying loud enough for the crowd to hear, as they had quietened. ''Don't worry. I'm sure you did your best, and you cannot give more then that... all you can do is be proud. You gave it your best shot, and you found out that you couldn't do it this time! There's bound to be other times, so just, don't give up!'' she said, exactly knowing what words would comfort the male, almost a motherly sort of figure to her. It made all the girls in the crowd, burst into tears, knowing that she had just comforted her opponent and with such beautiful words too! The male was led away, by a very awed father.. and the girl smiled at the crowd, and then began to walk away. Her steps were brought into the area again, but Kyo-sensei had left. So she went to sit alone on a couch, starring at the screen.
Another victory.. but a more soulful one this time.
She could do this, right?

As much as one might want to train every day, you couldn't. Few days on, few days off, these were the rules no matter what sport you were doing. But they were especially true when you were a free-runner. After all, you can take some nasty spills out in the city scape, and Angel had run into a spill like that just two days ago. She was mostly recovered, but a little extra rest had never in the history of humankind ever hurt anyone.
So she went to watch the university tournament! Even a habitually solitary person like Angel needed some human contact every once in a while.
Of course, this lead to some problems that Angel couldn't immediately solve. For example, she didn't have a ticket to watch, nor did she really want to pay for one. She could sneak in, easy as pie, but someone would catch her eventually. Someone would show up for a seat that was mysteriously filled, and then well, there went the neighborhood.
So, she tired something a little more bold.
She was in a good shape still, despite her fall, so getting into the arena was easy. Jump, slide, hop, slide, turn, cling, climb, jump, roll. It was like a beginner's course, really. And then once she was inside, she just walked.
"Intention defines reality" her father used to say. He said it so often that she couldn't think of the words without remembering his rough hands or his musty smell or his gravel voice. When she was a kid, it didn't make any sense to her; in fact, she was pretty sure she used think he said "In tents, Shawn denies mentality." But over the years she had come to understand how widely applicable it was.
Bluffing, for example. She walked by five security guards on her way to the competitor's lounge, and not one questioned her. Why? Because she acted like she belonged there. In fact, she acted like she was lowering herself to being there, and that it was somehow an honor for her to scrape her rubber soles against the concrete. It worked, of course. Plus, being a pretty girl (or at least, not-hideous) in front of a bunch of guys always helped. Guys didn't really want to make a girl angry.
And thankfully, rent-a-cop remains a male-dominated industry.
So there she was; sitting in the competitor's lounge, waiting for a her name to show up (which it never would) and watching from the best seats available.
She hated Holo-Comps, but she had to admit these people weren't bad. Still, there was a vast difference between "warrior" and "athlete." She was the former, while the rest were the latter. Sure, they had some nice moves and shiny weapons and some elegant poses, but how well would they do in a real fight? When their holographic pillows were gone and the fake-scythes became real scythes and when winning meant ending a human life?
No, they were athletes. Good athletes, but athletes all the same.
And while she respected most of them, there was one that just got on her nerves.
Talon Skye. What a name....
Him and his pretty ponytail and his adoring fans. Angel was surprised he wasn't having to navigate a hailstorm of bras ass he made his way back to his seat. Perhaps the only people who irritated her more than the flashy Talon Skye were the guys that seemed to be envious of his attention from the inconsequential women that adored him. She'd mock them, but they were already pathetic enough.
No, as much as she wanted to ignore him, she just couldn't let it go. Someone needed to remind these holo-addicted bubbleheads that not everyone thought they were cool.
"Hey, nice monocle Colonel Mustard!" Angel yelled at Talon, pointing into the distance. "The library is that way, if you're looking for it, but I think you'll need to bring your own candlestick!"
