(Gah I keep accidently posting things I mean to PREVIEW -_- *kicks proboards*) Sunset isn't far off and the early birds of the city's night life are just starting to show their faces on the streets, amid the crowd was Takai, fresh off the subway and headed for the nearest arcade. Shibuya was famous for it's shopping but wherever there was large throngs of people there was sure to be at least one arcade and Shibuya was no exception. Today in particular he was headed to a arcade tournament.
"Time to make some pocket change." He muttered to himself as he switched on some music "Nightmare-Tokyo Shounen" Showed up briefly in front of him "Heh...fitting."
Jamming to his tune he weaved his way through the crowd not really caring who he bumped or irritated, this was Tokyo after all bumping into people was kinda a given on the streets particularly near the subway stations. It wouldn't be for a couple blocks things would thin out a bit as the transition from the cities day life to nightlife was made.

A small, almost fragile looking hand slammed against the side of the slot machine as three un-matching pictures rolled to the forefront. As the smiling ghost, pumpkin, and tombstone refused to yield their position, Rose sighed, and drew away from the machine, fixing it with a solid emerald glare.
Pulling away from it entirely, she shoved her way through an ever mounting crowd toward another machine, staring past the blinking colored lights as she swore under her breath. One of them would have to yield SOMETHING. She couldn't go TOTALLY broke, she simply couldn't afford it. Between the updates her handy dandy lighter would be needing soon, her addiction to nicotine, and a fierce desire for a nice glass of bailey's to help her sleep wouldn't ALLOW her to be broke. She simply didn't have a choice.
Though she couldn't say she regretted buying her new skirt. So worth it.

Like the careful predator she stalked her prey, silently slipping through the crowd of people. Well as silent as an occationally giggling lady could be. She moved quickly to a new position if she started giggling again of course. It'd been a miracle she'd spotted him anyway, her original intent was to ditch her usual quartet of far too uptight and annoying security guards. For her own good her father told her, stupid little mongrels only served to kill any good mood that she could possibly work her way into.
She swore he almost caught sight of her at one point, but if she remember right he was probably lost in his own little world of music. Still, she was glad for once that the common folk were out in force today. It'd been ages since she'd last seen him, or felt like it anyway. 'Proper ladies should not be seen in the presence of a street urchin the likes of him.' Yume scrunched her face in annoyance, she could still remember her father's ridiculous lecture about how a proper lady should act. So what if her childhood best friend turned out much differently then her father hoped her closest friend would be.
With a warcry of "TAKAAAAIIII!!" she tackle hugged him from behind. Granted, she weighed very little so it was doubtful he'd be phased too much by her 'assault'. "Wow, have you grown taller?" Yume blinked a bit, noticing she actually had to look up a bit more then usual at him, even with heels on. "Never mind that! Now that you're here you can come shopping with me!" she clamped a firm hand on his and began dragging him towards the most girliest shops she could see at the moment.

Takai was happily minding his own business, and dangerously close to singing along to the song he was listening to when out of nowhere the music stopped. "Huh?"He tapped the side of his goggles a couple times "H.C. Detected" flashed in front of him accompanied by the JAWS theme. Takai froze, his comp reacted to familiar people's Holo comps much like you give unique ring tones to your buddies on your cell. But he couldn't remember who he'd assigned this particular setup to. "Eh? Someone I know.......In shibuya......-----Shiiiii" The sudden realization of who it could be was too late and the sound of a female voice yelling his name followed shortly by the feeling of arms going around him and a body clinging to his cemented his realization. Yume.
He tried hard not to look annoyed as she failed to even ask if he was doing anything and simply tried to drag him off. "Yume...." He began utterly failing at hiding annoyance he knew she'd probably be oblivious too anyway, other people's feelings weren't exactly high on her priotities list last he recalled. A fact proven by her referral to the general public as "peasants" or "commoners". "Do you always greet people by trying to drag them off? Besides, where are those thuggish guards of yours?" Though he was protesting he wasn't exactly resisting her dragging though he clearly wasn't too happy about going wherever they were going, then again that could've been attributed to his not knowing when or where her bodyguards were going to jump out. Spending time with yume wasn't necessarily a bad thing......shopping with her however definitely was.

Yume gave Takai an impish grin and kept on marching up towards a decidedly overly pink store. Blatantly ignoring his first question, it was how she greeted him anyway so it hardly mattered how she greeted other people, she babbled on about a few things of interested she knew she just had to have in the current store she just pulled him into. "Oh them?" she muttered, absently talking to him while simultaneously holding his hand by the wrist still and examining an off-white miniskirt. "Probably still have the dressing room of some shop a few streets back blocked off. You'd think by now they'd have caught on to that trick. I've pulled it at least ten times in the past three days."
She dragged him around the store, the pile of clothing she had tossed over her shoulder steadily growing, not really bothering to glance at more then the size and style of the particular piece. "So my dear Takai, how have you been? Whatcha up to? Got a girlfriend yet? Or you into guys? We should totally do something with your hair. Get you a new outfit too maybe. Oh! I could totally get you something new, you could use a girl's touch after all. Geez, leave you alone for a few weeks, or was it months?, however long it was and you look absolutely disastrous." Several minutes of Yume talking and simply grabbing items, soon found them at the register, Yume impatiently waving a small piece of plastic as the cashier rang up her items.
Perhaps the most interesting thing was simply that Yume, who adored shopping, could pass through a store in a manner of minutes. The downside to this fact, was that just meant she could go through more stores in a given day then most. It was most assured that she never even wore half the items in her ridiculously large wardrobe.

Takai watched the growing stack of clothes with a growing sense of incredulity."What I choose to wear is my business. he quickly replied shuddering at the thought of what she'd put him in. Then as she grabbed more and more clothing noticed there didn't seem to be a pattern to what she was getting, almost like she was just grabbing anything expensive. Do you actually wear this stuff? Or are you just buying junk for no reason?" He never did understand Yume, odds were he never would. He wondered if he was as incomprehensible to her as she was to him but then decided she probably hadn't even given the time to think about such things. "And don't expect me to carry your junk either...I'm not a servant." He added hoping the threat of having to actually carry all the stuff she bought herself would force some restraint and maybe he could actually get back to what he had planned to do today.

Yume turned to him, four bags dangling off her arms while she placed her card back into the little patterned bag that was concealed on her person. She forced her eyes as large as they would open, a little bit of tears for added effect of minor sparkle and moisture. A bit of effort of her lip trembling in an expression somewhere between a pout and crying. "Y-you're gonna make me carry everything?" she wailed, "All this heavy stuff that I bought just to look pretty for you?" she was making quite the display and talking in a blatantly easy tone for people to overhear. "I try so hard to make you happy and you just keep putting me down."
Yeah, maybe it was a bit much, but as long as it achieved it's purpose. Though out of all the people she could con, Takai generally seemed immune. Sometimes. Probably why she staked a claim in the boy as a friend way back when they first met. That or she just figured he was kinda cute and wanted company. Probably more option 2 then 1, but she tended to forget these kinds of things.

Takai wasn't about to be suckered in with such a simple trick. "You know the water works don't work on me. Besides, that's an obvious lie. you haven't seen me in ages, and didn't even know I'd be here nevermind that there's no way you'd be buying clothes to show ME when you didn't even stop to try any of them on nor ask my opinion on anything as a girl who was trying to impress someone would have." He broke down her flimsy attempt to con him while maintaining a flat expression.
"Don't you have anything better to do than shop for things you don't need?" Predicting her answer he added "If you really want to impress me all you'd have to do is take that thing off." He added pointing at her holo-comp. He knew this would draw her focus away from shopping...if only momentarily. Her sense of pride and self-conciousness would demand she know what was wrong with it....question was would he tell her?

Yume dropped the false look of a girl on the verge of crying, trust Takai to totally ignore the crowd as a few people pointed and whispered. She'd get him one day with that, there was no way he was completely immune. He'd have to be special, well special-er the someone who she considered a friend. Of course, this also happened to be when a quartet of men dressed in rather nice looking black suits came up behind her and she had to forcibly control the urge to rub her temples.
This is why she complained when her father first assigned them to be her guards. A pure white/black outfit fashioned in the design of western business suits, complete with little ear pieces and dark sunglasses just screamed that whoever she was she was important enough to require an armed guard. She could probably be safer with a neo sign around her neck begging for someone to kidnap her.
Rather then get annoyed or be angry with Takai, she shoved her various bags into the hands of the first two bodyguards without looking at them. "Hold these." she commanded, planting both hands on her hips. "What's wrong with my holocomp?!" she demanded, eyes narrowing slightly at Takai. "My brother got it for me I'll have you know." she was glad it masked the slight frown she had from the distaste of acting like she loved the thing. Truth be told, she believed it to be atrocious, but her brother gave it to her and as such she treasured it and used it.

"Oh look at that, your entourage is here." He stared to walk off.Knowing she'd follow rather than just watch him walk away but he wanted a headstart in case she decided to send her thugs after him...Yume did have a temper after all. "Well...let's see, behind that mask you can't really see your face. I'll bet you haven't gotten any guys asking you out since you started wearing it right? They're thinking things like 'why's she wearing a mask? What's under there? Is she hiding some deformation? Does she have a mustache?' Then there's the fact you can't even kiss a girl wearing a mask. No wonder you've got so much free time to shop for things you don't need. You've got no dates or anything. I wouldn't be surprised if it was part of one of your father's plans to keep guys away from you."
As he walked away talking over his shoulder, he was careful to watch how she reacted to his goading. While slowly but surely working back in the direction he remembered the arcade being in.

Yume was frustrated, and demonstrated as such by stomping one of her feet down in slight anger. Which spooked her bodyguards as her heel came dangerously close to one of their feet which would have meant a world of pain for one of them. She had to jog a little to catch up to Takai, which annoyed her to no end. "You're such a pig!" Annoyed tactic one, resort to childish name-calling. Her heels clattered in a cacophony of sound lost in the crowd as she caught up to him, securing an arm to hang off of. She pouted the whole way, but didn't really pull him off his original course, for some reason she didn't really want to go shopping anymore for the time being. There was always later.
Perhaps that's why she had remained friends with Takai, he was one of the only people who not only put up wither her antics, but seemed unaffected by her usual tricks. Special guy, too bad he wasn't on her father's "approved" list of boys allowed to court her. Politics seemed to make boys stupid, which is why she readily refused all suitors so far. Besides, no one thought those things Takai said right? I mean... she was beautiful. Right?
"Hey Takai..." she began, a tone that either included something horrible to occur for the poor man it was directed at or that the speaker was kind of hesitant to ask. "You didn't really mean all that right?" She tugged down her holocomp so it dangled around her neck, "I'm pretty right?" Loaded question one of the night.

Takai stopped just long enough to look at her and grin. It felt like she was earnestly trying to get his attention for once. "Of course." He replied then added "Ojou-sama's aren't allowed to be ugly you know. Nobody would tolerate the horrible attitude otherwise." he said chuckling as he continued on course finding the acrade just around the next corner. He knew better than to give Yume a whole compliment, her head would get big and she might start thinking she could manipulate him.
Unfortunately Yume had delayed him just long enough that he missed his tournament registry."Bah...I'm too late for the tournament....Guess I'll have to play some randoms." He said to himself. A few people noted Yume clinging to his arm, earning them even more odd stares than usual. Individually they were a sight for totally different reasons, he the oddity her a vision of beauty. Put the two together and that was something else entirely.Something that would work in his favor he hoped, as maybe people would think he was just trying to impress his girlfriend.

A loss. A loss. A loss. Rose scowled at the machine, narrowing her eyes and considering kicking the machine. Instead, she slammed her last four quarters in to it, and pulled the lever.
Jackpot.
"Oh hell yes!" Rose yelped, leaping once in to the air, and waving her arms around hapilly. Quarters began to spill out of the machine, threatening to overflow though she knelt to spoon the quarters in to the plastic container she'd picked up for just such an occassion. "Woo hoo!" She went on hapilly, even as an employee pushed his way toward the machine to make sure it didn't run out.

For once in their miserable lives, ones made even more miserable when she was annoyed at them, Yume's bodyguards picked the better option of waiting in less conspiculous places near the entrance to the arcade. Much as they didn't tell their boss, they knew Takai and Yume could pretty much take care of themselves, and worst case they'd be nearby to lend a hand. Bless their little slow learning heads.
Yume scanned the depths of the arcade, a bit peeved they went to such a trashy place in the first place. Couldn't Takai frequent a better place? And then she spotted it. The holy grail among the mess of trashy games and chipped tables. A purikura booth. Not one of the horrifically bland and so ugly it could make a hobo look like a super model type photobooth, but the overly cutsey ones that would strip a man of his masculinity in as much time as it took him to blink. Perfect.
"Takai," she whispered in a sort of awe born of sheer reverence of something. "They have a purikura machine...." she wasn't even done with her sentance before she was already dragging him towards a particularly pink and white one with a lot of colored flowers. "Pictures, we must take them."

"Yeah.....that's not gonna happen." He declared planting himself firmly in place. "You already blew my plans for today with your shopping detour you owe me. So if you want to take pictures you'll have to give me some incentive. Otherwise....." He looked around pointing at a nearby game. "I'll be playing that.....a high score battle should be good for some fun." he decided moving toward the shooter. It was new release in the previously discontinued 'Virtua Cop' series.
"You can uh...watch me play or something." he added as he pulled in the direction of the game. Either she'd give in, or try something else to convince him. He had at least hinted that it was possible. Though before he even reached it he had another thought "Or......I could be watching the unofficial H.C. Tournament I missed because of you." He paused to consider that thought. Definitely a better option. He changed course and headed for a series of unmarked tables.
